Our website price guide for small businesses and SME’s
We don’t believe ‘one size fits all’. Every business or organisation is different… and so is every website we create.
The prices in our website price guide are indicative of design and build costs for SME websites, with a good amount of quality content. We don’t believe an SME website project can be completed to the standards our clients expect, for less. Take a look at our proven web design process for an idea of the huge amount of work that’s involved in creating a website which is set to perform. That’s why we’ve put together our website bundles, offering everything you need for a reasonable monthly fee.
If you’re a small business with a lower budget, we can still help. It all depends on your aims for the website. Sometimes a simple, single page website, targeting the right keywords with a basic SEO bundle will be the best way to get results quickly for a limited budget.
Our sites are built to last. they can grow as your business grows. You don’t want to find your site is redundant next month just because you need to add a new feature.
Our modular approach means we get you online quickly with our proven paths and then upgrade your site in a structured way when you’re ready.
It’s useful to know where you want to go – that helps us pick the right platforms at the start. But you don’t need to do everything at once. we find it’s best to continuously develop your site, deploying small changes, frequently.
Get in touch and let’s get you online asap.
Guide price from:
(on average we find our SME clients invest between £3k-£7k in a well-designed responsive site, where there are no additional complex functions). The price varies due to the complexity of the site structure and the amount of information to be accommodated. Our website bundles offer a convenient way to get the site you need without breaking the bank. With a low initial set-up fee and pricing from £199 +VAT per month.
Spreading the cost
We understand your new website is a considerable investment, that’s why we put together our website bundles to help soften the blow. However, we also understand that some organisations prefer to pay in full prior to deployment. It could be you’ve secured grant funding, or you have fixed budgets approved by a board of trustees.
In these cases, we typically charge in 3 instalments. The first instalment is a deposit and is payable before work commences. the remaining instalments will be taken at fixed times, agreed with you before we commence.
The site must be fully paid-up before it can be deployed. If you need it live fast, then we need to be paid fast, but if you want to spread the cost, then we can delay the process to suit your cash flow.
Example payment plan
39steps responsive website
Agreed project value (VAT not included)
Agreed schedule (/months)
Deposit £2,000 (50%)
VAT not included. Payable prior to commencement
Second payment £1,000
VAT not included. Payable by Direct Debit 1 month after commencement
Final payment £1,000
VAT not included. Payable by Direct Debit 2 months after commencement.
Added functionality = added cost but potentially greater reward…
If you’re in the service industry, these days your clients expect to interact with you online, in the same way they buy a cinema ticket or book a plane ticket.
Adding functionality like online bookings, Appointments, reservations and reviews, can significantly improve your customer experience and make your business more efficient.
With so many variables, it isn’t possible to cover everything in this website price guide. Why not get in touch and we can chat your project through and give you a more accurate ballpark? Don’t forget, the additional functions can be added later!

A word about ‘free’ websites
We’ve written this website price guide to give an idea of what our clients budget for their sites. Depending on your goals, we can get your business started for less, and build up your budget as you start to get results. What we definitely can’t do, is build you a website for free.
Google ‘free websites’ and you will see a vast array of options all offering you the chance to build your own website and get started entirely free of charge. Sounds great, doesn’t it?
Here’s why we think it’s a waste of your time. Building your own website with GoDaddy, Wix or Weebly will prove time-consuming and to get the best out of it will require A LOT of your time. Shoehorning your current logo into a restrictive template will not do your brand justice! We charge a fair price to build websites and it can take from 30 – 120 hours to build a site. Take a look at our proven web design process for an idea of what’s involved in creating a website which will perform. It’s not going to take you any less time to do a decent job and you’ll be far more restricted than we are.
If you are a creative type and you want to spend your spare time on it, then give it a go! You’ll probably need to pay a subscription to get the features you’ll require for a professional looking site and you’ll need to do a lot of learning if you want it to be found in search engines. Good luck with it!
If you’d rather spend your time running your business, let us take care of your website. We’ve put together website bundles that roll in all of the essential costs, from £199 +VAT per month, with a low set-up fee.
